People are hoping that China’s new “two baby” policy will help stimulate the economy. This seems far fetched. They already have tons of people buying tons of products, but somehow reversing the one child policy is going to simulate growth? How much more can they really consume, and how will their already strained infrastructure handle this influx of yet more people? You can only hope they don't end up hating their lives working at a Foxconn / Apple plant. (NASDAQ: AAPL) I guess there could be a psychological factor. They will feel like a real first world power having gotten rid of that ridiculous rule. This is not to be underestimated. People could feel freed in other ways, and might be able to use those skills to dream up new technologies that can push the country forward. Crazier things have happened. But I remain skeptical this policy is a panacea.
